Grape Mealybug

(Pseudococcus maritimus)

Wine grapes, table grapes, juice grapes, and raisin grapes

Inspect plants, at least monthly throughout the season to detect GMB presence and monitor population densities.

Examine trunks, cordons, and grape clusters looking for presence of honeydew, wet trunks, or ant activity which can indicate GMB infestation.

Grapevines, especially red varieties, showing symptoms of GLRaVs may also indicate where populations of Grape mealybug are located.

GMB directly damages grape clusters resulting in quality loss and unmarketable fruit.

GMB are vectors of grapevine leafroll associated viruses (GLRaVs).
