2/5: Winter Reminder:

Winter sanitation is an investment for your orchard's success in the battle against navel orangeworm (NOW). Effective sanitation practices include using mechanical shakers or hand poling to remove stuck mummies then destroying them via flail mowing. A cleaner orchard ahead of this year's navel orangeworm flights means healthier almonds come harvest time.

2/10: Mummy Spray

Unfortunately, traditional "Mummy Spray" or "May Spray" insecticide programs have not delivered a strong return on investment for nut growers. However, evidence shows that an early spray of CheckMate® NOW-F from Suterra lowers populations throughout the season and significantly reduces harvest damage.

2/17: CRS IPM Program

The first step of any Integrated Pest Management program is to correctly identify the pest. As PCAs are out scouting, they must determine if insects captured in pheromone traps are indeed California red scale (CRS).

Find out more information on how to identify CRS by visiting our blog: https://hubs.la/Q03533r30
